World Osteopathy Day (June 22nd) has been founded
in 2012 by manual osteopath, Dr Shawn Pourgol, MBA, DC, DO, PhD president of National University
of Medical Sciences (www.numss.com). The Canada
Post in 2013 has published a postal stamp with the World Osteopathy Day logo.
Manual osteopathy is the number one treatment of choice for
Canadians with chronic low back pain (survey done in 2012). It is a safe,
non-invasive & highly effective treatment system, especially for chronic
pain.
Manual osteopathy has been chosen as one of the top 25
occupations in demand (report published by the Canadian Imperial Bank of
Commerce in 2013). There is zero unemployment in this profession and currently
patients in some cities (such as London, Canada) wait up to a year to get an
appointment with a manual osteopath. There is a severe shortage of manual
osteopaths worldwide.
It is our goal and mission to make sure patients in every
corner of the world have access to manual osteopathic care. To achieve this we
offer 100% online manual osteopathic education (doctor of osteopathy, bachelor
of science in osteopathy, diploma in osteopathic manual practice) worldwide
with practical technique classes in 45 countries. Our campuses are located in
Madrid (Spain) and Toronto (Canada) and we do offer campus based programs as
well. We are the largest provider of European style osteopathic education in
the world. Over half of the manual osteopaths in Canada are our graduates. And
in some countries such as Tanzania and Brunei 100% of manual osteopaths are our
graduates.
