Who is your IP?

WHO IS YOUR IP?

Knowing who is your Ideal Patient is THE most important information all practicing osteopaths must have. A number of osteopaths (mostly my students!) can dictate who their IPs are as they know how to attract the type of IP they want from the start of their professional work. However the IP for most osteopaths depend on the clinic location.

You should know who your IP is. You can find this by using a computer software such as Microsoft Excel. Clinic management software also can handle this analysis as well. All the information you need is in the new patient questionnaire forms. Patient’s sex, age, occupation, etc. Analyse these info to see who are your IPs. If majority of your patients for example are male blue collar workers, between the ages of 40 to 50, then those are your Ideal Patients for your clinic at this particular location. If you work in more than one clinic you should find your IP for each clinic as they most likely differ.

Once you know who your IPs are, then you should direct all your marketing activities to this group. Finding your IP is a key to your success.
