Medical Council of Iran Publishes Print & Web Artcle about NUMSS

This article was published in the Medical Council of Iran website by its Director of International Affair, Dr Shima Naghavi. Last week another article was also published in the print version of the Journal of Medical Council of Iran.

Celebration of a half century experiences and achievements in the field of physiotherapy

IRI Medical Council paid tribute to Dr. Mohsen Hashemi, a veteran physiotherapist and the founder of modern physiotherapy in Iran because of his consistent efforts regarding promoting the science of physiotherapy in our country.

Physiotherapy or physical therapy is a profession that remediates impairments and helps restore movement and function when an individual is affected by injury, illness or disability.
Physiotherapists mainly deal with musculoskeletal problems and are an active part of a multi-disciplinary medical team.

The earliest documented origins of physiotherapy in Iran as a professional group date back to approximately 50 years ago when Iranian Association of Physiotherapy established.
In a ceremony held by IRI Medical Council earlier this month, Dr. Mohsen Hashemi, a veteran and distinguished Iranian physiotherapist was awarded honorary doctorate degree from a European University because of his consistent efforts regarding promoting the science of physiotherapy in our country.

Present at the launch were: Dr. Shokouhi, the elected member of IRIMC Supreme Council, the IRIMC Director-General of Public Affairs, the Head of Iranian Society of Anesthesiology and Critical care and member colleagues from Iranian Association of physiotherapy.

Dr. Shima Naghavi, Director of International Affairs
