First Osteopathy/Naprapathy Hospital in the World Founded by NUMSS Graduate

Dr Gaurav Singra, MD, DOMP, DO, DN (candidate), a graduate of the National University of Medical Sciences (Spain) is opening up a multispecialty hospital in India with its own Department of Osteopathy.

Dr. Singra is also studying the doctor of naprapathy (DN) program offered by the National University of Medical Sciences (USA) and plans to add a Department of Naprapathy to this hospital in 2022.

This is the first time in history a manual osteopath & future naprapath has become owner of a hospital. Congratulations Dr Singra. We are so proud of you.

NUMSS Osteopath Heads Top Rehabilitation Post in Ira

 

We wish to congratulate Dr. Farjoud Shokouhi, president of the Iranian Osteopathic Association and an MBA/DPT/DO graduate of the National University of Medical Sciences (Spain) for being elected to the position of executive director of the rehabilitation board of the Iranian Medical Council (IMC), the highest medical authority in Iran in charge of all things related to the delivery of rehabilitation care in Iran.

This is the highest authority/position in Iran in the field of rehabilitation that covers all things related to physiotherapy, occupational therapy and other rehabilitation professions.

Additionally the Medical Council recently appointed Dr Shokouhi as the head of the public relations and medical-legal commissions of the IMC. This is the first time in history an osteopath has been appointed to these prestigious positions.

We are so proud of Dr Shokouhi. It is because of him that now the highest government post in the field of rehabilitation is filled by an osteopath. A historical achievement.

Insurance Coverage for Doctors of Naprapathy (DN)

Most insurers in Quebec and some other Canadian provinces reimburse clients for naturopathy & naturotherapy. Naprapathy (also knows as naprapathic medicine) falls under naturotherapy services in Canada.

Doctor of Naprapathy (DN) graduates of the National University of Medical Sciences (USA & Spain) can now join the Quebec based Canadian Alliance of Alternative Medicine (ACMA) as a naprapath. Membership in ACMA association offers NUMSS DN graduates the right to bill extended health plan insurers as ACMA is an approved EHP association.

NUMSS (Spain) DO Degree is Approved in the United States of America

National University of Medical Sciences (Spain) doctor of osteopathy (DO) degree is approved by the California University Foreign Credential Evaluation, a government approved degree evaluating agency in California (USA).

California University FCE is a member of the American Evaluation Association as recommended by the United States Department of Education. The degree equivalency evaluation of this organization is accepted by the State of California Department of Education and many other organizations.

We wish to congratulate Dr. William James Cobb, a NUMSS (Spain) DO graduate for getting his DO degree evaluated in the US. Dr Cobb is finishing an accelerated medical degree (MD) program and needed to get all his degrees evaluated.

This evaluation means NUMSS (Spain) DO degree is evaluated as an equivalent to a normal doctoral program in the United States. This evaluation does not mean that our DO degree is accepted as a license to practice medicine. We teach manual osteopathy not osteopathic medicine and alumni cannot practice anywhere in the world as an osteopathic physician with our DO degree. However alumni can practice as osteopathic manual practitioners in the United States.

This association is accepted by most insurers in Canada including the national Blue Cross.

Our Doctor of Botanical Medicine (DBM) at National University of Medical Sciences (Spain) has been evaluated and approved by the California University Foreign Credential Evaluation (FCE).

DO to MD Program Partnership Between NUMSS & RG

Update on the DO to MD Program 

The DO to MD program we created is the first of its kind in history for manual osteopaths and we made it happen. The doctor of osteopathy graduates can now get one year off of the MD program offered by Richmond Gabriel University School of Medicine. 

I was informed yesterday that the RGU Medical School is creating a landing page on its website just for the National University of Medical Sciences (Spain) graduates! This is such an honor for NUMSS (Spain) to have a page inside a medical school website! 

This is not all! Additionally they informed us that they are in the process of creating some sort of tuition discount just for NUMSS (Spain)! This is huge. At no time in history a medical school has given discount in their tuition to manual osteopaths! 

But again this is not all! They are also working to provide some sort of financial aide and student loan for NUMSS (Spain) alumni! This is amazing and I am grateful to them for being so kind to NUMSS. 

By the way this DO to MD program is available only for DO graduates of National University of Medical Sciences (Spain). DO graduates of other osteopathy schools are not eligible.

This is the 10th year anniversary of NUMSS (Spain) and I am grateful to God for allowing me to see its growth.

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Osteopathic Clinical Rehabilitation that we offer at National University of Medical Sciences (Spain) has been evaluated and approved in the United States by the California University Foreign Credential Evaluation agency.

This is great news for our PhD graduates as an approval in the United States is usually accepted in Europe, Asia and elsewhere as well.

Happy World Osteopathy Day!

 When I founded the World Osteopathy Day 11 years ago, the profession had no day of its own after 130 years of providing care to people! I designed the logo and even got the Canada Post to publish some custom stamps with World Osteopathy Day logo! 

Osteopathy does wonders treating chronic pain and my goal in life is to ensure every town has a manual osteopath in it. When I designed the logo manual osteopathy was not well known even in Canada and it was non-existent in the United States. Now there are over 5000 manual osteopaths in Canada and over 2000 in the United States, with many of them being my students! 

I am grateful to God for allowing me to expand this miraculous healthcare profession worldwide.

Since early 2022, NUMSS (Spain & USA) degrees are evaluated and approved by the California University Foreign Credential Evaluation agency, an accredited Department of Education agency in the US. 

Our degrees are now accepted by the United States government. Additionally our degrees are endorsed by the Spain Ministry of Justice and approved by embassies of almost all countries including Canada, the US, UK, Iran, India, Malaysia, Singapore and others.
