As of today, April 05th, 2017, 369 physiotherapists in Iran have taken the DPT (doctor of Physical Therapy) program offered by our university in Spain.
We have introduced the DPT to Iran and currently are the main provider of DPT education there.
Physiotherapists in Iran are urged to enrol in our DPT program. With increased enrollment comes increased recognition of DPT in Iran.
There are more than 5000 physiotherapists in Iran. We are confident that when the majority of these professionals receive the DPT degree, the Ministry of Health in Iran would accept this degree and finally the profession in Iran would be permitted to use the title of doctor of physical therapy.
Special thanks goes to physiotherapist, Dr Farjoud Shokouhi, PT, MBA, DPT, one of the supreme members of the Medical Council of Iran, who is also our first DPT graduate in Iran. Dr Shokouhi was instrumental in expanding DPT in Iran. Without his support DPT could not have spread to every province of Iran.
Dr Shokouhi forever will be known as the father of DPT in Iran and history will remember him as the physiotherapist who brought DPT to Iran.
