Our Students Made Us #1

The graduation day was about a week ago and already so many of our graduates found employment as manual osteopaths. This makes us so proud!
It is because of such great students that our schools have become #1 provider of osteopathic education in the world, teaching in 70 countries. The success of our students is what attracts many new students to enrol at one of our three schools.
We have introduced osteopathy to many countries for the first time. Countries such as Brunei, Mauritius, Tanzania, Iran & Colombia now have access to osteopathic care, thanks to our alumni.
Our US based university, the National University of Medical Sciences (USA) is the only university in the states offering manual osteopathic education.
Our university in Madrid, National University of Medical Sciences (Spain) is the largest provider of doctor of physical therapy (DPT) & doctor of osteopathy (DO) programs in Europe.
Our growth and expansion is the result of our students being successful in practice. While the average income for manual osteopaths in Canada is $90,000 per year, We are happy to say that our annual alumni survey showed that many of our graduates are making over $150,000 per year way above the average.

Osteopaths: I thank you

They said it was impossible. They said it could not be done. But thanks to your support, my dear colleagues, we were able to register the first ever manual osteopathic university in the states!
National University of Medical Sciences (USA) has graduated its first class last week.

We made history by registering the first university offering manual osteopathic education in the states. This was due to the support of all manual osteopaths around the world who supported us in this project.
And last month we received notification from Ontario Ministry of Advanced Education & Skills Development that NUMSS (USA) is exempted from being registered with the ministry. Once again we made history.

Manual osteopaths; I thank you. It is because of your support that we were able to expand manual osteopathy in 70 countries. It is because of your support that provinces such as Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut in Canada (as well as Alaska in the states) now, for the first time ever have access to manual osteopaths.

I am grateful for your support. Since the past 5 years when I founded National University of Medical Sciences (Spain) your love and support enabled us to help expand osteopathy in 70 countries. There are countries that never had access to a manual osteopath (like Tanzania, Iran, Bermuda, Trinidad & Tobago, Brunei, & Mauritius) and now because of your support we have graduates there helping people.

Without your support we could not have become the number one provider of manual osteopathic education in the world. I am humbled and grateful and I love you all for your passion, energy and support.

20% of Physicians in US are Osteopaths!

20% of physicians in the States are osteopaths. 25% of medical students in the US are osteopathic students.
Out of over 80,000 osteopaths in the US, only about 700 perform manual osteopathy techniques. The rest works exactly as a medical doctor in fields such as surgery, dermatology, gynecology, psychiatry, radiology, and general medicine.

Birthplace of Osteopathy

Did you know osteopathy was founded in the state of Missouri in USA?

Happy St Patrick's Day by the way. The green color today is because of St Patrick's day.

Manual Osteopaths Can Offer Physiotherapy Modalities in Canada

Manual osteopaths who wish to offer physiotherapy modalities such as ultrasound, laser, TENS, IFC, EMS, thermotherapy, cryotherapy, traction, & iontophoresis to patients are permitted to do in Canada once they take the appropriate courses.

The DO (doctor of osteopathy) program of National University of Medical Sciences (Spain) and the PhD program in osteopathic clinical sciences of the National University of Medical Sciences (USA) both offer physiotherapy modalities courses which enable manual osteopaths to offer physiotherapy modalities to patients.

Please note that while you are permitted to perform physiotherapy modalities after taking the appropriate courses, you CANNOT call yourself a physiotherapist and you CANNOT call what you do physiotherapy.

This association is part of a group called the Coalition for the promotion of osteopathy in Quebec (CPOC www.cpoc.ca).
The Coalition for the Advancement of Osteopathy in Canada was created to answer the questions raised by the process of recognition of osteopathy in Quebec and to present to the different levels of government the existence of different groups of Osteopaths in Quebec.
The CPOC is a group of osteopaths from various schools and associations. Quebec based osteopaths, from National University of Medical Sciences (USA) & National University of Medical Sciences (Spain) who believe in the reason for being united, are welcome to participate in the reflections and work of the coalition for the recognition of Osteopathy through the future Order of osteopaths.
